On the 2022 podcast, he spoke openly about the ‘hell’ of his past steroid addiction and how his conversion to Christianity changed his life.
He escaped jail time after being shot with steroids in his pants and internal syringe during a police investigation on the Gold Coast in 2018.
He said: ‘I lost my girlfriend, I almost lost my family because of it, and I almost went to jail because I was caught using steroids.
‘I didn’t go to jail and the reason is, I truly believe God was watching over me. He saw some potential in me and he saw a great person in me.’
‘That was my sign that I was meant to do something with my life; not just being in jail, not just being this steroid addict.
‘As soon as I found out that the third one would have come with a prison sentence and not only that, how it affected my mum and dad – like, they cried – I hit rock bottom.
‘I was like, f*** this, this is not me, and I just didn’t bring it up.’
In podcasts and social media, Mr. Tippet has talked about how he almost went to jail while addicted to steroids.
In a recent Instagram post before his death, Mr Tippet shared a photo of himself with a tattoo proclaiming ‘Jesus is king’ on the shoulders of his now inked corpse.
‘Six years ago I was in the worst situation of my life, I had no job and no vision or purpose in life,’ Mr Tippet wrote.
‘I was homeless at one point, my life was on the brink of a serious drug addiction, I was facing prison time, and I was worried especially with suicidal thoughts every day when i tried to kill myself 3 times.
‘What have I saved – Jesus. I prayed with my family on the exact day I entered my last trial and walked out a free man, since then I haven’t looked back.
‘It’s been one hell of a journey but I wouldn’t change it for anything. As the saying goes sometimes you have to hit every time to get to the top.’
Mr Tippet also shared a happy birthday post on October 31, listing 30 life lessons now that he has reached this milestone.
He said: ‘Getting old is better than the alternative: dying young.’
‘What really matters in the end is that you loved.’
